F.C.A. Dodge Ball Tournament is a Success

Last Saturday, September 8, more than 120 students participated in this year’s FCA’s, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, dodge ball tournament.  At five o’clock, fifteen teams full of Westminster students showed up to battle it out in the Westminster Arena.  Prizes were awarded to the winning team, as well as the team with the best costumes.  WCA students loved playing and watching their friends play a sport that most are not too familiar with.

“I loved the tournament!  The competition got pretty intense and it was hilarious to see my friends play dodge ball!” said Bekah Sharp, junior.  The tournament was a huge success in the minds of all participants.

“We had about 60 more students than we expected which was fantastic. We had a huge diversity of students from the robotics team, to freshmen volleyball players, to varsity football players. People have been asking us when our next event is, which is always a good sign.” Said Shelby Kehr, senior.  The tournament was a great way for WCA students to spend their Saturday with peers.  Kids especially loved the idea of dressing up silly, not in their normal, everyday uniforms.

Many students are now planning on attending another FCA event.  Students who would like to become more involved in FCA this year have many opportunities to do so.  Tuesday nights, starting the eighteenth of September, FCA will be meeting from 7-8:30 at Shelby Kehr’s house.  There will always be some sort of game or activity planned for the meetings.  Students can also like the FCA Facebook page to receive updates about additional events.
