The snow could not keep the girls out of the pool. Despite the snow day, Westminster hosted the 2021 conference meet last Wednesday.

Sophomores, Samatha Lee, Lucy Christain and Sara Schloss, lead the team’s domination of the conference meet. Samatha Lee finished first in the 500 meter freestyle, and Lucy Christain finished first in the 50 meter freestyle, and Sara Schloss finished 3rd in the 50 free.

Sara Schloss and Lucy Christian along with Kate Wessels and Margo O’meara placed first in the 200 meter freestyle relay. Overall the cats finished with three first place finishes at the conference meet.

Not only did Samatha Lee crush her competition, but she beat a Westminster record in the 500 meter freestyle.

Some more noteworthy swimmers who helped secure the conference win are Ellie Berkland, freshman, Emily Disper, freshman, Eleanor Disper, sophomore, Hennessy McGowan, freshman, Kate Wessels, sophomore, Becca Berkmeyer, sophomore, and Madison Bugh, junior.
