Girls Soccer Sticks to Their Groove

Girls+Soccer+Sticks+to+Their+Groove

The sun dipped low on the horizon as the girls’ soccer team gathered on the field, their faces glowing with the excitement of victory. Four games into the season, and they are still undefeated, filling them with pride and determination.

Their journey began with a commanding 3-0 win against Francis Howell North, setting the tone for the rest of the season.

Next came St. Charles West, a team that got absolutely hammered by their offense, conceding seven goals while managing just one in response.

It was the match against MICDS that truly tested their mettle. In a hard-fought battle, they emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win, a testament to their resilience and teamwork.

Then, a resounding 8-0 victory over Lutheran North proved their dominance on both ends of the pitch.

Captain Abbie Moser is leading the charge, her skill and determination earning her 11 points so far, closely followed by Norah Yost with 10 points of her own. In their clash against St. Charles West, Abbie Moser left her mark on the field with a stunning hat trick, a performance that showcased her skill as a striker.

Guarding their goal with determination were Emma Ballew and Kyla Christy, rotating every other game to secure two shutouts and anchor the defense. As they look ahead to the rest of the season, the girls know that tougher challenges await them.

But with their unbeaten streak intact and their spirits high, they are ready to face whatever comes their way. Their schedule may be tough, but with their talent and teamwork, every upcoming match is within reach. With each practice, they get stronger, their bonds on and off the field grow every day. They know that no matter what obstacles they encounter, they will face them together, united as a team.

This girls soccer team has something special that other girls soccer teams don’t have, ranked #1 in the state.

I asked Moser, what do you plan on accomplishing by the end of the season? She said “There’s no reason we shouldn’t win districts, and go far in state”. It will be exciting to follow along as this season unfolds.
