Gospel Choir Performance

On Wednesday, November 28, 2012, Westminster’s Gospel Choir performed in chapel after meeting twice before the actual performance.

During the first practice on Monday, November 19, Mr. Schwamb and Mrs. Richards, parent of two WCA students, convened and introduced the students to the two songs they would be practicing.

For an hour and a half after school, these students who volunteered to join the choir shared many laughs, made new friends, and most importantly, were able to sing their section parts to their best abilities.

A diverse mix of students including a few upper schoolteachers, joined the choir and sang in chapel. For two hours on Tuesday night before chapel on Wednesday, twenty-three students arrived at school to practice one more time and this time with the chapel band.

“It was a unique experience to come together for worship with the Gospel Choir. They had a lot of energy fellowship to contribute to the band,” said Christian Thompson, senior.

Mr. Holley, director for spiritual life, intends for Gospel Choir to make a regular appearance in chapel during the second semester and introduce different styles of worship music to the student body.
