On Tuesday, October 30, the sophomores of WCA treaded down to the Arena to take a test that would last most of the morning. About to take the PLAN test, these sophomores did not know what to expect.

The PLAN is a standardized test that helps sophomores prepare for the real deal, the ACT. This exam contains all the sections of the ACT: English, math, reading, and science. In addition to the test, students filled out a sheet that is a career inventory survey, in which they answer many questions ranging from which situations they perform best in to careers they are interested in.

This standardized test does not count against or boost their academic records in any way. Some students recognize the PLAN as a way to see what is coming for them in their junior and senior years if they decide to take the ACT.

“I enjoyed taking the test, but it felt like taking the Explorer test which we took in eighth grade,” said Amber Terlow, sophomore.
