The Variety Show overall performance was a big success, and it was a lot of fun.

After a long and exciting Carnival, several Westminster students participated in a long-lasting tradition at WCA—The Variety Show.

This year, the show had many different acts, including but not limited to, several bands and musical performances, dancing, and a Filipino martial art demonstration. The evening culminated in a hilarious piano and dance performance of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” performed by Coby Nye, senior, and the Westminster football team.

There were also several middle-schoolers who took part in the performances such as a basketball spinning act by Chad Briden, seventh grade.

“The variety show was a rip-roaring success. The AV Club, the performers and the very supportive crowd made this Variety Show one of the best variety shows we have ever had,” said Jill Keith, upper school teacher and variety show organizer.

The performance was held in the Westminster Theater, which was filled to maximum capacity. In fact, so many people wanted to see the show, that the school ended up selling about 90 overflow tickets. All in all, over seven hundred people saw the performance.

The winners were decided by audience text-message voting.

The band, “That Guy”, consisting of Riley Adkisson, Trent Briden, Thomas Meyer, Amon Kehr sophomores, and Danny Dwyer, junior, took first place, performing the song “Too Close”.

The Varsity football team was the runner up with their piano and chorus line. Coming in third, was an incredible song and piano duet of “Fix You,” performed by Paige Arnold and Nathan Richardson

The emcees of this year’s variety show were Parker Briden, Grace Linton, seniors, and Chad Briden, seventh grade.
