Running

Moving on from the bike, it is possible to run outside in the winter. I prefer to run on nicer days but that’s not always possible. I find it most important when running in the cold to cover my hands and ears. Your ears receive the least amount of blood flow so they tend to hurt more when you run in the cold. So I usually wear a hat or earmuffs. Also my hands tend to get cold fairly quickly. I hate feeling like my fingers are freezing off so I like to wear gloves. Other than that running with someone, whether it’s a friend, a family member or my dog, helps keep me going and take my mind off the cold. Lastly, listening to music is always beneficial. Music tends to help fill me with energy and distract me from the fact that my legs are getting tired. So even when it’s cold there are ways to enjoy a run outside.
