The Concert That Fulfilled My Wildest Dreams

Ever since the third grade, Taylor Swift’s music has remained high on my playlists. Even songs such as Teardrops on My Guitar and Love Story, still remain popular. Her 1989 World Tour sold out large stadiums within minutes. My experience at the concert is one that I won’t forget.

As I entered the arena, I had high expectations of what Taylor was to bring. Her new album, 1989, has won her multiple Grammys and remained high on people’s playlists. It shows Taylor’s pop side as she begins to branch out from the country genre.

I arrived at the arena extremely early and the majority of the seats remained empty. But as the lights went down for her opening act, Vance Joy, the arena quickly became filled. Vance Joy performed well. He played his most known songs, such as Mercy Me and Riptide. One surprise Taylor added was introducing a second opening act, the band Haim. I will admit that Haim wasn’t exactly my style. They were very rock ‘n’ roll with loud drums and electric guitars. Luckily, their show only went on for 15 minutes, and then we began to wait for Taylor’s entrance.

As she was lifted onto the stage, the crowd erupted into screams of joy and excitement. As she began to sing her opening song, Welcome to New York, the entire crowd joined in. As the concert continued on, Taylor led the show with a majority of her new songs, but added in a few of her well-known older songs. This created a good variety for all audience members. The Taylor Swift concert was so much fun. Her performances were amazing! I loved how she mashed up several of songs and played her entire 1989 album,” says Amanda Enger, freshman.

As her concert continued, her dancers enhanced the show. They added props and skills to each song, while remaining in-sync and enthusiastic. They made Taylor’s music come to life. On the back of the stage, there was also a large video screen that projected Taylor and different videos during each song. Each video was different and added an amazing view of Taylor for the entire audience.

Out of all the concerts I have attended, this was definitely my favorite. The screens behind her, dancers, props, outfits, and performance all came together to form one memorable night. The concert met my Wildest Dreams.
