Wildcats Fall to Rockwood Summit

Futbol Cats fall 3-0 to a quick Rockwood team

Playing under hazy, overcast skies the two teams took the field to begin the match. Play was even in the early minutes of the game, but the Falcons of Rockwood Summit struck first, just ten minutes in. Off a long throw in, the ball bounced once in the Wildcat box, and the Summit forward flicked it into the back of the net. The half would end with the score 1-0.
With the second half underway, play had evened out and Summit had very few serious chances on the Westminster goal. After a few minutes of back and forth play, Summit scored a near perfect copy of its first goal, another long throw in into the box that was finished nicely for the game’s second goal. With a 2-0 lead, and the game in hand, the third and final goal came off of a nicely taken set piece just outside the Westminster box. The left footed shot was placed perfectly over the defending wall, and well out of reach of the Wildcat goaltender, Junior Brandon Beat. The game would finish 3-0 in favor of the visiting Rockwood Summit Falcons.
The Wildcats will continue their season on thursday against Timberland at home at 4:15.
