  • Every stage of life has its ups and downs
  • Elementary school kids believe that middle school life will be so much better, middle school kids think that high school is the dream, and high schoolers learn to hate high school and can hardly wait for college life.
  • “The grass is always greener on the other side.”
  • We always wait for life to get better — for us to reach a point where we have more freedom, less work, ideal relationships, etc.
  • The truth is: when you finally get to middle school, high school, and college, each will require an increasing amount of responsibility. When you finally get the relationship you’ve always wanted, you have to pour in lots of work, love, and sacrifice to keep it alive. When you finally get that car you’ve been begging for for years, you will still have to wash it, pay for gas, and take it to the car shop. When you are in the spotlight and have millions of dollars, you will miss the days of normal life when you could go out in public and go to the store, the movies, etc.
  • Enjoy where you are now. We are all blessed more than we realize.
  • Philippians 4:12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
