Harmonizing to the Fullest

The musical talents of several upper school students have been recognized. Four students have been inducted into the St. Louis District Honors Choir. Christina Goetz, Nathan Richardson, seniors, and Hannah Geisz, and Kathryn Hinrichs, juniors are involved in this exclusive choir.

District Honors Choir is a chance to go above and beyond harmonizing to create gorgeous music. It takes the top high school choristers from around the St. Louis area to form the district choir.

The audition process consists of a minute and a half solo and then a sight singing portion. This means that the auditioner must read and sing the music at the same time with no preparation.

“It was difficult for me because you don’t get to see [the music] ahead of time,” said Hinrichs.

It is not easy to put oneself out there to potentially be rejected, but the District Honors Choir is a great experience for those who get involved.

“This is a spectacular chance to work with people who are passionate and hardworking enough to make wonderful music,” said Geisz.

Though nerves were built up in the waiting room, these four students overcame them and are now considered some of the top singers in the St. Louis area.
