Rise of the Fall

The Upcoming TV Shows this Fall

Ah, fall. With it comes the return of autumn leaves, windy days and plump turkeys. But with the return of fall comes the return of some of our favorite TV shows as well. And while there are plenty of old shows we love and enjoy, some new eye-openers are guaranteed to make television-watching all the more exciting.

Mondays – Shows to help survive the worst day of the week.

New Shows

Minority Report (Fox): This new blockbuster-turned-television lives up to its predecessor in degrees of action. Set eleven years after the events of the film, Detective Lara Vega and crime predictor Dash team up to stop crimes before they happen. (8 P.M.)

Blindspot (NBC): waking up in Times Square naked, with no memory, stuffed in a bag, sporting hundreds of tattoos is not the ideal way to live life; but it is the ideal way for starting this new drama. Jane Doe must gain assistance from the FBI in order to find out the mystery of her past while solving the treasure map printed on her body. (9 P.M.)

Supergirl (CBS): One of the latest comic shows in a long line to take the mini-screen, Supergirl prepares to fill the big boots left by her relatively more famous cousin. Created by the same writer as the shows Arrow and The Flash, Supergirl rises to popularity as it prepares for its release on October 26. (7:30 P.M.)

Returning Shows

Gotham – Season 2 (Fox): Rise of the Villains! And one very convincing mini-Joker. (7 P.M.)

Scorpion – Season 2 (CBS): The world’s greatest geniuses are going to the final frontier. (8 P.M.)

Tuesdays – I hereby dub this comedy drama night!

New Shows

The Muppets (ABC): everyone’s favorite puppets are taking a trip to the adult side as they start off their new show with large amounts of funniness and some adult humor (thankfully, only older people will recognize it so kids won’t be scarred for life). (7 P.M.)

Scream Queens (Fox): this show will give girls second thoughts about joining a sorority. A psycho murderer stalks the sisters of Kappa Kappa Tau as they torture each other with embarrassing initations. If that doesn’t get you hooked then watch just to see your favorite celebrities get murdered. (7 P.M.)

Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris (NBC): if the title didn’t give you enough info, just prepare to have your gut bust out of your chest as NPH and Little NPH go crazy all night. (9 P.M.)

Limitless (CBS): what if drugs actually helped you rather than harmed you? And what if they made you the smartest man on the planet for 12 hours? These are the questions given to us in this new drama. Prepare to get high in this funny, suspenseful series. (9 P.M.)

Returning Shows

The Flash – Season 2 (The CW): prepare to go to other worlds with the fastest man alive. (7 P.M.)

iZombie – Season 2 (The CW): Walking Dead meets CSI. (8 P.M.)

Wednesdays – Um… guess no one wanted any new shows on today… just new seasons.

Returning Shows

Arrow – Season 4 (The CW): new suit, new team, new villain, same old butt-kicking. (7 P.M.)

Empire – Season 2 (Fox): more drama, more music. (8 P.M.)

Black-ish – Season 2 (ABC): the funniest family counseling you can get. (8:30 P.M.)

American Horror Story – Hotel (FX): Lady Gaga finally joins what is essentially her fantasy. (9 P.M.)

Thursdays – One day before the best day of the week… which means drama galore.

New Shows

Heroes Reborn (NBC): who knew TV shows could reboot/sequel? I certainly didn’t. However, this show is prepared to give traditional superheroes a run for their money. Filled with old and new faces, Heroes Reborn takes off flying. (7 P.M.)

Returning Shows

Scandal – Season 5 (ABC): evidence for why I don’t trust politicians. (8 P.M.)

The Blacklist – Season 3 (NBC): I’ll take the villain’s story over the hero’s anyday. (8 P.M.)

How to Get Away With Murder – Season 2 (ABC): the reason for the high crime rate. (9 P.M.)

Fridays – Thank God… oh, there’s nothing new today.

Saturday – Wake up if you dare…

New Shows

Guardians of the Galaxy (Disney XD): Don’t know how many teens still watch cartoons but apparently some adults still do so it’s ok! If you want to watch your favorite “Space Avengers” before their sequel hits theaters in 2017, just come and watch. (8:30 P.M.)

Returning Shows

Doctor Who – Season 9 (BBC America): I lost count around the 7th doctor. (8 P.M.)

Sunday – God said don’t work on the Sabbath so just sit down and watch TV.

New Shows

Quantico: It’s basically Hunger Games meets Mission Impossible: everyone is attractive but no one is trustworthy. Good luck solving this mystery. (9 P.M.)
