Julia Coleman has been an offensive and defensive standout throughout the season.

Despite the devastating loss to John Burroughs to end the girl’s basketball team’s season, one player held the spotlight, scoring two-thirds of her team’s total points.

Julia Coleman, junior forward, ended the season with a bang, dropping 26 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Coleman shot an impressive 57% from the floor, but her efforts fell short in a 49-39 loss.

As a result of her numerous dominating performances in the postseason as well as regular-season games, Coleman tied with Burroughs’ Allie Turner for District Player of the Year and received First Team All-Conference and First Team All-District honors. Although it is yet to be finalized, Coleman will be an automatic nomination for the All-State team.

With another season with the Wildcats still to come, Coleman will surely be an impressive leader. She finished off the year averaging 15.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.93 assists, 3.19 steals, and 1.22 blocks.
