The varsity girls soccer team continued their dominant start to the season with an 8-0 trouncing of Lutheran North on Friday. The girls wasted no time getting ahead, with freshman Kirsten Davis scoring within the first 10 minutes. The frustrated Lutheran North team attempted to come back from this quick deficit, but strong defense halted their efforts immediately. After a short time on the attack again, sophomore Missy Grasse netted two back to back goals within three minutes of each other to firmly put the Cats ahead. Only a few minutes after this, sophomore Elisabeth Harding netted a quick goal to give the Cats a solid lead. By the end of a strong first half, the Lady Cats had a dominating 7-0 lead. In the second half, the Cats started a more defensive style of play to protect their lead. Freshman Taylor French played a solid game between the pipes, making big saves to protect the teams shutout performance. Tierre Reese, junior, netted the lone goal of the second half to give the Cats a final score of 8-0. This win makes the team am undefeated 3-0-0 for the season with much more soccer left to play.
