Seeing Art

What Westminster has on display

Whether you’re an author, poet, artist, or photographer, you probably dream to have your artwork published and validated as beautiful in some way. Although the rewards do not need to be great, there is always a deep satisfaction that comes from seeing your finished product: shiny, new, and well-present.

In the WCA Literary Magazine, this dream can be a reality. For all the starving artists out there, know that the literary magazine is completely free, and available for download as an iBook, coming this April.

I started the Literary Magazine back in September after being inspired by a movie, to help me get into college. Since then, it has grown into so much more than that. It was so refreshing and inspiring to watch my peers get excited about seeing their art in print (or on a screen, if you will,) and share their passions with the world.

“I submitted to the magazine for the fall issue because I wanted my experiences and ideas to be shared with the WCA community, and I hoped they could benefit from hearing those about those experiences,” said Carmen Verbeke, junior.

Next year, current junior Katelyn Davidson will take over the magazine, and once again students will have the opportunity to publish their work. So no matter what type of art you create, or if you just enjoy looking at other people’s work, check out WCA’s Literary Magazine, available soon.
