The Death of Blue Man Stomp

One of the most fun aspects of Spirit Week, Blue Man Stomp, has unfortunately come to an end. As a result of the decline of participants in the event, Blue Man had to come to a complete conclusion.

Over the last few years, some grades at Westminster have not participated in Blue Man Stomp because they simply have not had enough people sign up. Because of this inconsistency, Westminster had decided that for this year, there would be one Blue Man and it would be made up of any Westminster student that wanted to participate.

The Westminster community hoped that by doing this, they would be able to have a fantastic product that students and teachers would really enjoy. It could have been an event that brought people from all grades together and develop friendships between the participants of the event.

Unfortunately, there were not enough people that wanted to sign up for Blue Man this year which ultimately lead to the end of it.

Many Westminster students are upset by this news because of how much fun it was to watch.

“It was a really cool thing to see the different performances that everyone put together so it is sad that they won’t be doing it this year,” said Clayton Grass, senior.

Many of the seniors at Westminster miss Blue Man because they remember what it was like when they were 7th graders.

“I remember how awesome Blue Man was back in middle school because every grade had one and there were so many participants,” said Jake Mitchell, senior.

The death of Blue Man Stomp is a sad loss, however hopefully this may open a door to a new and exciting alternative option. If enough students would like to participate in the coming years, there could also be a possibility of it coming back. For now, the Westminster community must adapt to this new situation and keep bringing in the fantastic spirit of Lip Sync, the videos, and Boys Poms.
