WCA’s Art à la Carte Showcase

On Dec. 12 WCA’s annual “Art à la Carte” took place to showcase Westminster’s artistic crowd. The chamber choir, concert choir, band, jazz band, orchestra, middle school performance art classes, improv, and drama department all performed during the night. Drawings, sculptures, paintings, photography, and pottery from the art classes were also featured.“There were different mediums of art, and that was probably my favorite part. And there were all different levels. There was everything from art survey to sculpting and watercolor. I loved that,” said Maddie Sturr, freshman.

With so much to see, some of those who attended felt a bit rushed.

“We kept having to get out of the way to watch people perform, and I wasn’t really able to look at too much of the art. But besides that it was really good,” said Sturr.

Next year, one thing the staff might improve on would be to fix this problem.

“Maybe space out the performances a little bit more so that you have time to do stuff in between,” said Sturr.

The bands and choirs were also a delight to listen to.

“They had really good harmonies,” said Sturr.
