How to Change a Tire

If not for yourself, maybe for someone else…

It’s Christmas break at Target. Snow is pouring down and the roads are getting icey. You walk out of Target to quickly hop in your car, but you see a mom with two kids struggling to put her groceries away in the cold when you see she notices one of her tires is flat. Would you be able to help her? Or would she have to figure it out on her own in the freezing cold?

Changing a tire takes 6 easy steps.

1.) The first is to locate the tool kit and spare tire in your car.

2.) Next, find the wrench and loosen the screws/lug nuts of the flat tire.

3.) There should be a jack to lift up the car which you place under the frame of the car close to the flat tire. The jack might be difficult to use or figure out, so check for the manual if there is confusion.

    4) Once the car is jacked, pull the tire off and put the new tire on. Twist the screws on by hand so that the new tire is stable and lower the jack.

5.) Last, finish by screwing the lug nuts tightly in a Star pattern so that the tire is not wobbley when driving. Screw one lug nut in then screw the next nut that is opposite to the lug nut that was just screwed in.

6.) Practice at home at least once. That way, when you decide its a good idea to crawl under the car, someone who knows what not to do can tell you how bad an idea it is.
