The Westminster Ladies volleyball team won the district championships on the 24th of October, defeating current state champions, Villa Duchesne.
After a three game win against Visitation, They continued on to play Villa. They came back after a disappointing 15-25 loss in the first game to win the last two games 25-17 and 25-22. This is the Wildcats’ second districts win in three seasons.
The star of the game was Erin Bognar, senior. She proceeded to have 24 kills, spikes that cannot be returned, which was the match high.
“I’m just so excited. This day we had just an emotional rollercoaster of games. Once we hit our stride, we were so steady, and I was just so proud of everybody, because we went through so much,” said Bognar on Stltoday.com

After winning Saturday night the cats advance to state. They play at 3, 5, and 7pm in Cape Girardeau on Friday, November 2nd. Admission is $7, and there will be a fan bus leaving at 1pm from Westminster. Total cost for admission and the fan bus is $20.
