Swim Team Finishes Strong at State

On November 12 four members of the varsity swimming team traveled to the St. Peters Rec Plex to compete in the state meet.

Nathan Terschak, senior, and Michael Seifert, sophomore both competed in two individual events at the meet.  Terschak finished 42nd in the 100 fly and 33rd in the 200 IM.  Seifert finished 27th in the 100 fly and 33rd in the 100 back.

The team qualified a relay for the first time in school history.

Seniors, Matt Sugg and Parker Moore paired up with Terschak and Seifert to place 28th in the 400 freestyle relay.

“This is probably the most successful season that we have had.  We broke the school record in eight out of twelve events,” said Kent Kehr, head coach.

The team finished with a record of 9-5, one of their most winning seasons.

In other sports MSHSAA divides schools into classes based on student population.  For swimming MSHSAA does not divide the schools.  When a place is made in swimming, it is a true place, unlike other sports where a place is made merely in the class.
