Arena Shutdown

In late August, a custodian was doing his regular routine of cleaning the arena vents and found what he believed was mold.

The WCA maintenance department quickly took action to solve the problem of the possible health risk. Mold removal experts were called in to get rid of the mold that could cause allergy flare ups.

Due to the mold counts which were lower than the outside air yet above levels considered optimal for indoor air chapel was held in the gymnasium and athletic activities had to be moved. Now that the mold has been removed, the arena has been cleared for all activity.

“Everything is okay now, and no one needs to worry”, said Todd Zell, athletic director.
